＜天網恢恢疎にして漏らさず＞は聞いたことがあるだろう。これも語呂がいい。特に調べないと意味のわからない恢恢（かいかい）がいい。
意味は
天網は（恢恢＝広く大きい）目があらいようだが、悪人を漏らさず捕らえる。天道は厳正で悪事をはたらいた者には必ずその報いがある。（三省堂、大辞林）
警官が捕まえた泥棒に言う言葉として最適だ。だが、意味をよく考えると＜疎にして漏らさず＞は理屈にあわず、いわば逆接だが、天網は善人に対しては粗（あら）く、悪人に対しては細（こま）かくなる、と解釈したらどうか。つまりは天網は変幻自在なのだ。

殺（＜死＞）と＜活＞ははコンビで＜活＞は＜活魚＞の＜活き＞。
勇於敢則殺，勇於不敢則活。此兩者，或利或害。
勇を出してあえてすれば死、あえて出さざれば活（いき）。この両者、同じ勇だが、あるときは利あり、ある時は害あり。
天之所惡，孰知其故？是以聖人猶難之。
＜悪＞は＜悪い＞というよりは＜不運、災い＞か。
＜孰知＞は＜深刻了解;清楚地知道。＞
天の災い（運、不運）は誰がよく知ろう？聖人でもなお知るのは難しい。
天之道，不爭而善勝，不言而善應，不召而自來，繟然而善謀。
繟然 ＝ 坦然 （平然として、うろうろあわてずに）
＜善謀＞は＜謀＞の字があるが＜善＞がつき、必ずしも悪い意味ではない。。
1. 好的計謀。
2. 指認真（まじめな）謀画。
だだ＜無為をよし＞とすると＜善い謀＞でも問題があろう。だが、天の道が＜善謀＞とすればそれほど都合悪くない。
天の道は争わずしてよく勝ち、言葉にせずともよきにはからわれ、呼ばなくとやってくる。モノゴト坦然とうまくいくのだ。
これで＜天網恢恢，踈而不失。＞と意味が通じる。

On this account the sage feels a difficulty (as to what to do in the former case).
It is the way of Heaven not to strive, and yet it skilfully overcomes; not to speak, and yet it is skilfull in (obtaining a reply); does not call, and yet men come to it of themselves. Its demonstrations are quiet, and yet its plans are skilful and effective. The meshes of the net of Heaven are large; far apart, but letting nothing escape.
